The Position

At Cainthus, we work together on talented cross disciplinary teams to develop an original product that helps farmers provide the best care for every animal, through continuous observation of the farm ecosystem.

We are looking for a UX Designer to design software applications that meet the needs of our users. The role will require you to apply your creativity and experience in UX Design and User Research to create easy to use interfaces that visualise unique data insights and help farmers drive improvements on dairy farms. In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. You should be familiar with how to present complex data in a simple and easy to understand way. A strong portfolio of successful UX and other technical projects is essential.

 

About Us

We are a growing computer vision start-up based in Dublin. We are a blend of computer vision specialists, engineers, designers, and data scientists, all from diverse backgrounds. What You'll do
  •  Understand industry trends, product specifications, and user psychology
  • Work closely with product management to conduct user research and interviews, document and share key learning, and create rich user personas
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Work with the computer vision and data science teams to understand the datasets and determine how best to present the information to users
  • Conduct concept and usability testing with users and stakeholders and gather feedback
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and demos that clearly illustrate features and workflows
  • Define the right interaction model for the product and use metrics to evaluate its success
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems, with a particular focus on visualisation of complex data in easy to understand ways
  • Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
What Skills You'll Bring
  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role
  • Strong portfolio of design projects
  • Previous experience working with Data Science / Data Analytics teams to present complex datasets to users
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Balsamiq, InVision etc.)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Analytical mind with a business acumen
  • Have worked on cross disciplinary agile teams
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the dairy or wider agriculture industry an advantage but not a requirement
